Basketball Wives: Will Evelyn Ever Face Consequences for Her Violent Behavior?
Evelyn Lozada is hard on camera, but not built for jail
By now we’ve witnessed the bottle toss heard 'round the world. I’m talking about last week’s episode of Basketball Wives in which Evelyn is seen throwing a bottle of champagne, plates and everything else but the kitchen sink at Kenya's head for - get this - stirring up drama. Seriously?
Basically, word got back to Evelyn that Kenya called her a hoe, and when Evelyn confronted Kesha, she didn’t own up to it. Kesha instead said that she may have called her "loose," but couldn't remember "exactly." Most people would have chalked all of this up to Kesha being loopy and let it go, but not Ev.
Never one to shy away from her close up, Ev upped every ante we’ve ever witnessed on reality TV by basically trying to kill Kenya (and accidentally take out Shaunie and Suzie in the process). What's most distubring, however, is that no one seemed at all appalled or disgusted by Ev's behavior - Shaunie tried, but her reaction wasn’t convincing enough). Evelyn could have seriously hurt someone, a fact that no one seems too fazed by. (Note: At this point, she's gotten physical with Royce, Tami, former BFF Jen and now, Kenya).

In the following preview for tonight’s episode of Basketball Wives, Shaunie, Tami and Evelyn get together for dinner after the now-infamous incident to discuss what happened. Apparently, the blame is still pointed at Kenya. Yes, she's admittedly creepy, but she got up and walked away from the fight. There’s an old adage that says, “He who angers you controls you.” In reality, Kenya won.
Evelyn swore “on her baby” that she was cool with catching a case. But everyone is cool with catching a case when they’re trying to appear hard for cameras until they actually land in jail. Imagine Evelyn in jail. The label fanatic who runs a luxury shoe store and just got a six-figure book deal. Really? She "ain't about that life."
Sadly, reality TV has gotten so out of control that this may be the next step for one of it's stars if they continue on this path. Aside from Snooki’s brief stint in the bing for public intoxication, I’m surprised no one has been arrested for violence. And let’s not talk about when they get to Tahiti. Someone is bound to show their whole entire arse.
Do you see this coming any time soon or will reality TV continue to give people the illusion that they can behave like savages without any repercussions?
