Beverly Johnson to Appear in HBO Documentary About Supermodels
OG Supermodels share their stories.
Beverly Johnson will appear in HBO’s forthcoming documentary series, “About Face: Supermodels Then and Now.” The film chronicles Johnson and 16 other veteran supermodels such as Christie Brinkley, Jerry Hall and Isabella Rosselini, who share details from their lives as models from when they were young to now.
It’s obviously not easy for models when they get older but Johnson is one of the few who managed to transition into other areas of expertise. The groundbreaking model, whose career has spanned over 30 years is best known as being the first African-American model to appear on the cover of American Vogue in 1974. These days, she’s a successful businesswoman who owns a hair care and extensions line, and who appears in her own reality TV show, “Beverly’s Full House,” on OWN. See below for the trailer:
"About Face" debuts on HBO on Monday, July 30 at 9pm.
