Truvy's beauty shop gets a makeover
Late last year, it was announced that the 1989 hit film "Steel Magnolias," that starred Sally Field, Dolly Parton and Julia Roberts, would be remade with an all-black cast.
After speculation had been made for months, it was eventually revealed that the cast would include Queen Latifah, Alfre Woodard, Phylicia Rashad, Jill Scott, Adeero Oduye, and Phylicia’s daughter Condola Rashad as Roberts’ character Shelby.
Now, we finally have the trailer to the Lifetime film that follows the lives of the women as they congregate at Truvy’s beauty shop, ponder life and death, husbands and children, tragedy and triumph and, of course, hair and nails.
We also learned that Lance Gross, Michael Beasley, and Tory Kittles have joined the film.
