To their credit, Ice-T and Coco have been married for 11 years, a lifetime by celebrity marriage standards. But, this is no Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee we're talking about here.
Not saying that Coco is a bad person, but the woman is pretty much the equivalent of a soft porn actress. Women in this profession are either looking for attention at all times or attracting it. Sure, we can come up with ways to justify it since she is a "married" woman and her husband pimps her plays a role in her business affairs, but are we really going to base our relationship hopes on them?
A couple that invites the world and their opinions into their homes on national television every week?
A couple whose relationship, at least to the public eye, walks a fine line between husband and wife or pimp and ho?
A couple who pretty much handled this entire situation on Twitter before they had a face-to-face conversation with one another about it?
Granted, Ice has dropped monogamous gems like "One down b***h is worth 10 funky hoes" or the more politically correct translation, "Just get one girl and rest your nerves."
But, can we really afford to think that if Ice-T and Coco can't "make it" that love as we know it is a farce? Are there that many broken homes in America?
And maybe the real farce has more to do with money than love. Ice-T and Coco will be celebrating their 12th anniversary on New Year's Eve. Coco's Las Vegas "Peep Show" starts this month. And, after consecutive weeks of a drop-in viewership, the season finale of "Ice Loves Coco" airs on the E! channel this Sunday.
