Good News for Those Looking for Work
Looking for a job? You may be in luck.
Despite what you may have heard, job growth is happening, but at a cost.
The Department of Labor announced the U.S. economy added 169,000 jobs in August. Up from the 104,000 jobs in July, it looks like the economy is getting back on track.
Most of the new jobs were in health care, professional services, and manufacturing. Other industries on the rise were typical part-time employers like retail and hospitality.
But there’s always a catch, right? With just 63.2% of Americans working, the percentage of people in the labor force took a dive.
In other words, companies are hiring, but workers aren’t staying or simply have stopped looking.
Are you still in the job market or did you call it quits?
