Immigrants Get License to Drive
California's trusty legislation has decided to approve driver's licenses for undocumented immigrants.
As the state works avidly to keep illegal immigrants from settling in California, it is interesting, yet not much of a shock, that the approval of driver's licenses amongst these candidates is now in effect.
Governor Jerry Brown supports the bill that the Legislature passed on Thursday, providing illegal individuals with the right to a driver's license.
The state Assembly approved on a 55-19 vote, which then went to Senate, passing with a 28-8 vote.
California is state number 11 to let immigrants apply for licenses despite illegal settlement. It seems so contradictory, doesn't it?
"Hopefully, it will send a message to Washington that immigration reform is long past due," said Brown.
Do you think that this new bill was a wise choice or not so much?
