More Hispanics Going to College
Although the number of people enrolling in college has declined in the past few years, the Hispanic community should be celebrating.
According to the new U.S. Census Bureau, the number of Hispanic people going to college has increased.
In fact, there are currently more Hispanic college students, about 2.4 million, than there are white college students.
Contrarily, the number of non-hispanic people enrolling in college has dramatically decreased. Naturally, the number of Hispanic high school drop out students has significantly declined as well, down to only 15%, and is decreasing the most compared to any other racial group.
Another breakthrough the Hispanic community should be celebrating about is the fact that they now make up 25% of students in all public schools. Despite these accomplishments, the new goal for the Hispanic community will be to stick with college and earn that Bachelor’s Degree!
