Navy Training at The Expense of Sea Life
What's better? Training the Navy to protect our nation? Or killing dolphins?
The military has released two environmental impact statements saying the Navy will inadvertently kill hundreds of whales and dolphins in the ocean over the next 5 years.
They Navy can train using simulators but needs to also train sailors in real-life conditions. The sea life would mostly die from the use of torpedoes, missiles, explosives and sonar.
The thing is that the Navy needs permits for these activities and if they would have harmed animals without having these studies, they would have been in violation of federal environmental law and had to stop their training.
So why are they still planning this training?
Aren't whales and dolphins important too?
Are you upset by the Navy's revelation?
