The reality star struggled with mom's cancer diagnoses on the VH1 show
Jackie Christie, star of Basketball Wives L.A., lost her mother to cancer.
“I just lost my mother a few hours ago,” Christie said during an interview on "The Tom Joyner Morning Show" yesterday. “She’s had a long fight with it, and I know she’s in a better place. It was her time. We're okay with it."
Fans watched Christie's struggle with her mother's diagnosis on the VH1 reality show that follows wife and girlfriends to professional basketball players.
In the interview, Christie also talks about how she marries her husband every year. The show depicts her sixteenth wedding to former NBA player Doug Christie. Her mother was her maid-of-honor this year. The couple wed in Vegas while her mother watched the ceremony via Skype.
Christie also talks about her estranged daughter Takari who has made hurtful comments about the reality star. “She put those malicious stories out there that are so far from the truth, I can’t even begin to fathom it,” Christie said, ensuring listeners that she is a great mom. "She apologized, and we talk every day, and she pretty much has stopped going on her Twitter."
