Bisexual Men Do Exist, Study Says
Surprised that scientists have found bisexual men are attracted to both sexes?
Researchers at Northwestern University have found evidence that bisexual men are in fact attracted to both sexes.
A 2005 study by the researchers made it appear as if men who identified themselves as bisexual were actually closeted homosexuals. It was later revealed that men in the study were recruited through advertisements in gay-oriented publications and a questionnaire was used to determine their sexuality.
The new study, however, was stricter in regards to how they recruited the men. This time around the ads targeted bisexuals by appearing on related online venues. They also required participants to have had sexual experiences with at least two people of each sex and a romantic relationship of at least three months with at least one person of each sex.
“Someone who is bisexual might say, ‘Well, duh!’” said Allen Rosenthal, the lead author of the new Northwestern study. “But this will be validating to a lot of bisexual men who had heard about the earlier work and felt that scientists weren’t getting them.”
