HBO Orders Spike Lee's Mike Tyson Boxing Drama

'Da Brick' is loosely based on the boxing champ's early career

HBO is teaming up with Spike Lee and Entourage's Doug Elin for a boxing drama loosely based on the life and career of former heavyweight boxing champ Mike Tyson. 

The cable network has ordered a pilot for Da Brick, which focuses on Tyson's early boxing life. The drama is set in Newark, N.J. or "Brick City." Da Brick will also reflect on Tyson's childhood.

In what seems like a comeback for Tyson, Da Brick is the latest project focusing on the former boxing champ, who has made cameo appearances in the Hangover franchise as well as Animal Planet's Taking on Tyson. Last season, he also appeared on HBO's Entourage and CBS's Same Name.
