Mary J. Blige Releases Video for 'The Help' Theme Song

R&B ballad appears on 'The Help' soundtrack

Mary J. Blige brings her soulful sound to "Living Proof," the theme song for the upcoming film "The Help," which hits theaters today. The song is written about the movie's main character Aibileen (Viola Davis), who plays a maid and caretaker in Mississippi in the 1960s.

"I was literally typing down things that made me cry, and why, and the different things that they were saying that made me, you know, that moved me," explained the Queen of Hip Hop Soul, whose album My Life II: The Journey Continues will hit shelves in September. "And that's when I came up with the title, 'The Living Proof,' because they're all living proof of surviving out of a bad situation by holding onto each other and encouraging each other through all of that stuff to do better."
