Memphitz 'Embarassed' Over Gun Incident at Atlanta Airport

Says he rushed out of house with bag, forgot gun was in it.

Hip hop artist and husband to reality TV star "Toya Carter," Mickey "Memphitz" Wright sat down with the "Frank and Wanda Show" on Atlanta's V103 recently to explain just how somebody goes to the airport with luggage and forgets that, ooops! I've got a gun in there!

"I usually have it locked up in the house or in my car when I’m traveling," says Wright who insists that he only has a gun to protect him and his family and that he isn't a "hoodlum." "So I took it out of my car and put it my backpack and put it in the house. I hadn’t traveled in a week or so and me and my wife were traveling. So we were headed to the Magic show in Las Vegas. We were rushing like, 'I can’t miss this flight.' So I picked up my computer and my bag and just went to the airport."

He continues, "I’ve been traveling too long and I’ve transported guns before. Somebody was like, 'Somebody got a gun; it’s a gun in this bag.' I was looking around like 'What fool brought a gun?' And Toya was looking at me like 'It’s in your bag.'...Then I started remembering and I was like 'Ohhh, No! I put the...'"

Wright currently serves as a vice president at Sony Music, and says that he is a little worried about how the company will look at him after his arrest. But he shouldn't sweat too hard, they know a thing or two about dealing with employees in the news.
