Non-Nerdy People You Should Have In Your Google+ Circle
1 year ago
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’d know that Google+ is the new “in” thing on the Internet. Since its debut a little over two weeks ago, people have been fiending to join and are questioning their friendships with people who didn’t invite them into the network.
What is it exactly? Well, to keep it simple, it is Google’s answer to Facebook and Twitter, but mainly Facebook. Google+ allows people to build a profile page and share information with only certain people, but not everybody.
For example, on Facebook and Twitter it is either/or when sharing information. You either have to share it with everybody connected to you (i.e. anyone who stumbles across your public page) or you have to make your page private and pick who gets to see it, but at the same time shutting the rest of the world out. Meaning that your boss might see those drunk Memorial Day photos when you really just wanted to share them with your friends. Or that tweet you sent out about the party, will also serve as a invite to your stalker ex.
Well, Google+ is based on a network of circles which allows you to group people into certain areas. You can label one circle “friends,” another one “co-workers” and another one “acquaintances. ” It also has webcam capabilities in the form of “Hangouts” where multiple people can video chat at the same time. Count on a lot of time being lost in there.
Now that we’ve got all of that out of the way, just who should you be linking with? Truth be told, since it's very new, there aren’t many “cool” people on there yet. The most popular people so far are techies and the people who actually helped make it. That said, we’re going to try and help you out. Here are five profiles that you should be adding into your Google+ circles.
1.) Bomani Jones
We don’t think Bomani is cool just because he’s written for us from time to time. This guy has one of the more popular radio shows on satellite and the web, he always has the best answers on ESPN’s Around the Hornand he has a picture with Ric Flair as his avatar. Plus he doesn’t mind sharing pictures of his his many travels. Add Jones to your circle CLICK HERE.
