President Obama Joins Foursquare

President "checks in" on popular social network
President Barack Obama continues to show politicians how to use social media. He's joined the popular Foursquare online community.
Foursquare allows users to "check-in" at various places including restaurants, concerts, bars or any location with a valid address. Users can leave comments and compete with each other to see who checks into the most places, earning "badges" along the way.
The President's first check-in was at Lower Hannah's Bend Park in Minnesota where he was speaking to a group of 500 people about the economy. The White House says the President's plan for Foursquare is to keep people abreast on stops on his campaign trail.
Here's to hoping that he's at least a little bit more engaging on here than he is on Twitter. Since he is out stumping we expect to see him unlock the "Bender," "Explorer," and maybe even the "Crunked" badges in no time. Let's hope he doesn't earn the "Douchebag" one though.
