Shots Fired: Rick Perry Calls Obama a "Big Black Cloud"
He also threatened Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke
They say everything is bigger in Texas and yesterday while campaigning at the Iowa state fair, presidential candidate Governor Rick Perry added his mouth to the list.
When talking about the state of the economy and how President Barack Obama is handling it, he chose some rather colorful language.
"He says he's on a listening tour, so I'm going to talk to him," said Perry with this Texas twang. "Mr. President, you need to free up the employers of this country to create jobs...I'm a pro-business governor, I don't make any apologies about it and I will be a pro-business president."
After that he said that a "big black cloud" was hanging over the country. In Perry-speak that means there's a "big black guy running the country and I'm not too happy about it."
But Obama wasn't the only person in Perry's crosshairs. He also attacked the real president Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke. In response to whispers of Bernanke possibly printing more money, Perry quipped, "If this guy prints more money between now and the election, I dunno what y'all would do to him in Iowa but we would treat him pretty ugly down in Texas."
He also suggested trying Bernanke for treason. Before 2006, the last time anyone in the United States indicted for treason was 1952. The way Perry's talking, there's no telling what else he's willing to bring back if he's elected President. Let's hope he doesn't actually start "hanging" these big black clouds he speaks of.
