'Madea' finishes in front of Steven Spielberg and Elton John
HALLELUYER! Tyler Perry has landed himself atop Forbes magazine's "Highest Paid Men In Entertainment" list.
Forbes reports:
Thanks to five movies he has cranked out over the past two years and two TV series, Perry earned $130 million between May 2010 and May 2011, which ranks him as the highest-earning man in entertainment for that time period.
Perry will next make a rare appearance in a film he didn’t direct, write and produce. He’ll take up the mantle of author James Patterson’s detective Alex Cross in the movie I, Alex Cross. Morgan Freeman played the detective in two earlier films: Along Came a Spider and Kiss the Girls.
In 2009, Perry was ranked sixth on this same list. Now that he is at the top, it places him ahead of Steven Spielberg, Jerry Bruckheimer, Elton John and Simon Cowell.
Spike Lee is somewhere plotting.
