Brazilian Prostitutes Learn English, Prepare for World Cup

Atleast 300 prostitutes are expected to join the classes.

Brazilian prostitutes are gearing up for this year’s Confederations Cup and the 2014 World Cup by signing up for free English classes. Cida Vieira, president of the Association of Prostitutes in Belo Horizonte, said that she expects at least 300 of the group’s 4,000 members to sign up.

"It will be important for the girls who will be able to use English to let their clients know what they are charging and learn about what turns them on," Vieira told AP. The prostitutes may also begin learning French and Italian.

Prostitution is legal in Brazil; it caused uproar last year when members of the Secret Service were accused of gallivanting with prostitutes and paying for sexual favors. (AP)
