A Tour Of Harlem
As part of the Harlem Arts Alliance’s Harlem Arts Summit, a week-long series of free performances, screenings, panels and presentations was showcased to build support for the arts in Harlem and in communities of color throughout the city.
Harlem cultural jewels (The Studio Museum in Harlem, The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture and Harlem Stage/The Gatehouse) shone during last week's Arts Advocacy Week. In additional to the general public, folks from all across the country attending the Imagining America national conference on art also delighted in the various presentations. A guided bus tour brought conference attendees to the institutions where participants learned firsthand about the significance and impact of each and the unique collaborations between the arts, business and education that are fueling Harlem’s current resurgence as a vibrant center.
