Want to Message Mark Zuckerberg? Pay $100
5 months ago
Facebook is testing a new revenue stream, making use of spammers.
Facebook has begun testing “paid messages” on the social network, allowing users to contact whomever they want—regardless of network—for a fee. When Facebook originally announced the news, they didn’t say how much it would cost. However, Mashable discovered Thursday that sending a message to Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg or Digg Founder Kevin Rose carries a $100 price.
Typically, when a Facebook user messages someone outside his or her network, the message is sent to the “Other” mailbox (or Spam purgatory). The messaging fee is just one of several new revenue streams Facebook is testing out. (CNN Money)
