Diddy to Launch His Own Music Channel
How will it compare to MTV?
Never one to let someone else steal his shine, Sean "Diddy" Combs has announced that he, too, will be launching his own cable network, just hours after Magic Johnson made the same declaration. Both men will be backed by Comcast.
Though Johnson's channel, Aspire, will include TV, film, and comedy programming, Diddy's channel, Revolt, will focus on music videos, live performances and pop culture.
Diddy teamed up with MTV veteran Andy Schuon to create the network that he says is, "the first channel created entirely from the ground up in this new era of social media. We're building this platform for artists to reach an extraordinary number of people in a completely different way. Revolt will be live, like all great moments in television history."
The channel is expected to debut sometime in 2013.
