Why is America Hating on This Hot Mom?
It's not the photo but the tagline "What's your excuse?" that has moms fired up.
After sparking a firestorm on Facebook -- 25,000 comments and counting -- Maria Kang appeared on "Good Morning America" to offer a non-apology.
"I didn't call you fat, I didn't call you lazy, I didn't say that you should look like me," she said.
The 32-year-old fitness instructor and mom of three has been labeled a "bully," "self-righteous" and "obnoxious" for the photo caption that implies other busy moms have no excuse for not being as fit as Kang.
As one commenter wrote, "What's my excuse? Cancer. If you really cared to promote health you wouldn't need to be half naked. You can show health by being dressed. The fact you chose attire such as this is that you were promoting appearance."
Kang says she works out 5 to 6 days a week, but for many moms, finding time for a shower is a miracle.
"I think that I represent a mother who is healthy and who can be a positive role model to other mothers," she said
Sure, Kang's body is enviable but she may have a problem with over-sharing. She told "GMA" in singsong, "I took the picture because, um, I wanted to update my profile pic on Facebook. Who doesn't, you know what I mean?"
Moms out there, does this upset you?
