The Queen of Soul was Scheduled to Sing at Ceremony
An hour before the start of Whitney Houston’s Funeral, news arrives that longtime friend and mentor Aretha Franklin will not be attending the services today because she is sick.
The Associated Press reports,
Franklin had been expected to sing. A person close to the Houston family but not authorized to speak on the record says Franklin is no longer planning to attend because she is sick. Franklin performed Friday and is scheduled to give another concert Saturday night.
A revised program lists Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys and R. Kelly among those who will sing at today's service in Houston’s honor.
