Soul singer says incident during his performance was a “mistake”
Last week, Loop21 told you actor-producer Tyler Perry and singer Cee Lo Green would put the “F-U” in fundraising for Barack Obama, but we didn’t think that meant literally.
The Gnarls Barkley singer drew criticism over the weekend, after media outlets picked up video clips that clearly show Green flipping off the crowd and dropping the f-bomb, during a performance of his pop hit, “Forget You.”
Green performed at Perry’s production studios in Atlanta last Friday, as part of a five-stop fundraising haul for President Obama’s re-election campaign. Some reports have the president netting $5 million from the trip.

When a Twitter user called Green out for his use of profanity at the event, Green responded by calling it a mistake.
@thecrow365 well there not! And it was a mistake sir. All of you heard the song a thousand times so don't get all saint on me

President Obama wasn’t at the event when Green performed, reported the New York Daily News. Even if he was there, it’s not like the president hasn’t cursed in his lifetime.
