Rappers' funeral arrangements include a public viewing on Nov. 17
Fans of the late Dwight "Heavy D" Myers will have a chance to say farewell at a public viewing on Nov. 17 from noon to 6 p.m. It be followed up Friday with a private funeral service expected to be attended by Sean "Diddy" Combs, Mary J. Blige and the Wayans Brothers, according to TMZ.
The funeral will take place at Grace Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, N.Y. Reverend Dr. W. Franklyn Richardson will deliver the eulogy.
The death of Heavy D, just 44, shocked the hip hop and entertainment worlds; just weeks earlier, he performed at the BET Hip Hop Awards. Heavy D also had a part in the film Tower Heist with Eddie Murphy and Ben Stiller.
He was found dead outside of his home in Los Angeles. A cause of death had not been determined.
In lieu of flowers, Heavy D's family requested donations be made to an account set up for his daughter:
