The two plan to meet on Monday
Haitian President Michel Martelly told the Associated Press that he plans to host Oprah Winfrey on Monday when the media mogul visits the island.
Martelly hopes that Winfrey could be an advocate for the earthquake-striken iskand to future investors.
"I am hoping she will serve as an ambassador for Haiti, to help us get the kind of assistance needed," Martelly said at a trade summit for the Caribbean
While on the island, Winfrey also plans to visit a settlement camp for displaced Haitians run by actor Sean Penn. Also, her schedule includes a meeting with designer Donna Karen.
There's no word on if cameras will be rolling when Winfey visits the island.
