Jay-Z & Beyonce Hosting Obama Fundraiser At 40/40 Club in NYC

Campaign gives supporter an opportunity to attend and meet president and star couple

Want to meet Jay-Z, Beyonce and President Barack Obama all in one night? Next week, that might become a reality for an unspecified number of grassroots supporters of the president’s re-election campaign. On Thursday morning, subscribers to the Obama for America email list are expected to receive an email from “Queen Bey,” urging them to go online and donate “as little as $3” to Obama’s campaign. Doing so puts supporters’ names into a drawing for an all expenses paid trip to the 40/40 Club in New York City, where a dinner fundraiser is scheduled to take place. From Beyonce’s email message to supports: “This has been a big year for my husband and me: We became parents. Now that we have more than our own futures to worry about, the stakes in this election are even higher -- that’s why we’re more committed than ever to re-electing President Obama.” The contest ends at midnight.
