Kim Kardashian Files for Divorce

The reality star wed in a four-hour wedding special on E!

Reality star Kim Kardashian filed for divorce on Monday, TMZ reports.

After 72 days of marriage and a four-hour wedding special on E!, Kardashian is splitting from soon-to-be ex-husband Kris Humphries.

E! executive producer Ryan Seacrest confirmed the report tweeting, "Yes @kimkardashian is filing for divorce this morning. I touched base with her, getting a statement in just a few mins."

Rumors have long swirled that the couple wasn't getting along. Apparently, the NBA lockout, and Humphries subsequent unemployment, added to the couple's tensions. Also, Kardashian's mother, Kris Jenner said the couple wasn't on the same page, business wise.

"They're going two separate directions [with work]," she said. "They'll figure it out as soon as they get back."

Well, it looks like Kardashian gave up on figuring it out and has enlisted the help of attorney Laura Wasser to aid in her divorce. Kardashian listed her day of separation as Monday, Oct. 31 and wants the court to reject any request for spousal support.

Updated: 2:59 p.m. ET: Hours after initial reports broke, Kardashian released an official statement saying, "After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage. I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don’t work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best.“
