LAPD Apologizes for Releasing Notorious B.I.G's Autopsy Report

Did so without informing family first
The Los Angeles Police Department has apologized to Notorious B.I.G's family for releasing an autopsy report without notifying them first. Detectives of the Robbery-Homicide Division called the release "premature" and an "administrative error." The 23-page report was made public Friday, yet included no new information about the rapper's 1997 death, angering his associates. "What legitimate lead could be stimulated by releasing an autopsy that says 'Mr. Wallace was shot,' when everyone knows that? Why don't they release some of the clues they have?" said Perry Sanders Jr., an attorney for the Wallace family. "The family has been advised by the ex lead detective that the case has been solved for several years. If that is true, the family wants to know why an arrest has not been made." The Notorious B.I.G. was shot to death in Los Angeles on March 9, 1997. (Today)
