Madonna Gun Skit During Denver Concert Angers Fans
Complaints act in poor taste after movie theater shootings in nearby Aurora
Sometimes it's all about timing. Madonna has regularly performed a skit that prominently features guns during her latest tour. But in light of recent events in Colorado, she may have wanted to drop it during her stop in Denver.
The area was rocked July 20 by a gunman who opened fire in a movie theater in nearby Aurora, Colo., killing 12 people. Some Madonna fans were not happy with the singer using the gun skit during her Thursday night performance in Denver.

Denver's NBC News affiliate, KUSA-TV, reported the station received several calls Friday from concert-goers saying they were offended that Madonna used guns and violence as part of her show.
In a statement before beginning the tour, Madonna said she does not condone the use of guns. She said she uses the guns as symbols of intolerance and "the pain I have felt from having my heart broken."
