Michelle Williams Joins Tour of "Fela!"

The play is scheduled for 16 cities: Miami, Atlanta, Nashville, Los Angeles, and others.

Former Destiny’s Child member Michelle Williams is joining the musical “Fela!” on its national tour. The singer is set to be onstage when the tour opens at Sidney Harman Hall in Washington, D.C. on Jan. 29. “Fela!” is a biography of Nigerian musician and activist Fela Anikulapo Kuti. Williams will play Fela’s African American lover, Sandra Isadore.

The show, produced by Jay-Z, is scheduled to play 16 cities, including Miami, Atlanta, Cleveland, Dallas, and Los Angeles. Williams has also appeared on Broadway in “Aida” and on tour with “The Color Purple.” (AP)
