Morgan Freeman: "No, I am Not Marrying my Step-Granddaughter"

Actor and granddaughter deny report that they are romantically linked.

Morgan Freeman and his step-granddaughter E'Dena Hines have come out firing at reports that they're engaged to be marriage, according to E! News.

Hines, who is Freeman's step-granddaughter, is also 45 years younger than Freeman who is 74. Hines is 29.

"The recent reports of any pending marriage or romantic relationship of me to anyone are defamatory fabrications from the tabloid media designed to sell papers," Freeman said in a statement obtained by E! News. "What is even more alarming is that these fabrications are now being [picked up] by the legitimate press as well."

Added Hines: "These stories about me and my grandfather are not only untrue, they are also very hurtful to me and my family."

Freeman divorced from his wife of 12 years, Jeanette Bradshaw, in 1979. He and his second wife, Myrna Colley-Lee, split in 2007.

The first tabloid to report this alleged relationship was the National Enquirer.
