Oprah is Entertainment's Highest Paid Woman, But Title May Not Last

Without her syndicated TV show or a salary from OWN, Oprah's $165 million earnings in 2012 may be last big payday

With an estimated $165 million earned between May 2011 and May 2012, Oprah Winfrey topped the Forbes 400 list of Hollywood's highest paid women.

Winfrey's net worth, which was estimated at $2.7 billion by the magazine, is expected keep her on the 400 list for years to come, but this may be the last year she is on top. Winfrey was still earning money from her syndicated show during the time frame used for this list, but she shut it down in May 2011, with reruns going through the summer. She has yet to take a salary at OWN, so her sources of revenue are now only the shows she produces through her Harpo production company (like "Dr. Phil" and "Rachel Ray"), her satellite radio station and O, The Oprah Magazine.

Next on the list this year is Britney Spears, who earned an estimated $58 million between May 2011 and May 2012. In third place was Taylor Swift, who earned an estimated $57 million through the year. (At 22, Swift is the youngest woman on the list.) R&B/pop star Rihanna was tied for fourth with Ellen DeGeneres, at $53 million.
