Outkast’s Andre 3000 Teases Us About Recording New Album

If he gets the itch, he could record a new album “in three days”
Andre 3000, one half of the Grammy winning rap duo Outkast, danced around the idea of giving eager fans a new album, in an interview on Tuesday. The 37-year-old is currently focused on his portrayal of Jimi Hendrix, in an upcoming biopic of the legendary black rocker. A new album seems furthest from his mind: “Some days I feel like I'll do it, some days I don't. Some days I feel like I don't need to, some days I feel like I want to do it before I die. So, I don't know where to fall. I am just hoping one day I get that inspiration," he said at an event for Gillette’s eMO’gency Styler Tour. “It's a feeling for me. Like, I can't just throw out an album to be rapping. And I don't even know if it will be rap. I don't even know what it will be.” Andre and Big Boi, his Outkast groupmate, haven't released an album since 2006 platinum selling "Idlewild," a follow up to their Grammy winning smash "Speakerboxx/The Love Below." The Atlanta hailing Andre left the door open for a spontaneous release. "It could be a rush situation. Like if I feel that feeling and I record an album in three days and I'm like, 'This is what I want to say right now' - that can happen, too," he said. Why is he teasing us? (Associated Press)
