Capital Steez, a member of the up-and-coming Brooklyn, N.Y.-based rap group Pro Era, has died, authorities said. He was 19.
The young rapper, whose real name was Jamal Dewar, had only recently begun receiving buzz in the entertainment world. The rap group’s leader, Joey Bad$$, and Johnny Shipes, the CEO of Cinematic Affairs, the group's label, posted the news of his death on Twitter.
Police officials had yet to disclose any details regarding the death of Steez, but there were concerns raised that he might have taken his own life. NewsOne reported that Steez posted a puzzling message on Twitter the day before his body was found Monday, that read, “The end.” His death was still being investigated. (NewsOne)
