Famed drummer is beating the hip-hop mogul in grassroots efforts to help the president

There’s a battle going on in the hip-hop community between former music mogul Russell Simmons and Questlove, famed drummer for The Roots. The two have launched grassroots efforts to raise money for President Barack Obama’s reelection campaign, and Team Questlove is killing Team “UncleRush.” On Thursday, the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon drummer was at 83 percent of his fundraising goal. Simmons was only at 16 percent. According to the Obama campaign, more than 3.1 million people have donated at the grassroots level as of Sept. 3. In August, the average donation was $58.

So, who would you support, Team Russell or Team Questlove? Or do you support neither? Tell us in the comment section below.
