Sherman Hemsley died from lung cancer, according to a post-mortem report from the El Paso County Office of the Medical Examiner. The document notes that medical experts advised Hemsley to undergo chemotherapy and radiation before he developed “superior vena cava syndrome,” caused by the lung mass. Other accounts have stated he died of "natural" causes. The actor, who played George Jefferson in “The Jeffersons,” passed away at his home in Texas on July 24 at the age of 74. (MSNBC)
