The 90-minute show celebrates the 67th anniversary of United Nations global peacekeeping efforts
World peace isn’t so hard to imagine when you’ve got Stevie Wonder providing the soundtrack. The legendary musician announced Wednesday that The United Nations Day Concert: “A Message of Peace,” which he headlined last October, will air this Saturday at 7 p.m. ET on BET, Centric, VH1 Soul, VH1 Classic and Palladia. The musical celebration, which includes performers Sting, Janelle Monae, Wyclef Jean and Ell Varner, took place at the General Assembly Hall at UN headquarters in New York. That’s an impressive line up and Wonder can’t speak more highly of it: “People not only sang about it but their spirits were committed to see peace,” Wonder told members of the press. "In this society we are living in, there’s a need for peace for all nations throughout the world.” Well said, Stevie! Don’t forget to tune in or set your DVRs. (Associated Press)
