Five Reasons You Should Watch "Tanisha Gets Married"

Tanisha Thomas transformed from bad girl to lady but still brings the drama.

The last time I did a post about someone’s wedding special (*cough*… Kim Zolciak), there was a bit of shade looming because I implied that people would watch because it would be a circus. However, in today’s case I have a genuine interest in this particular special that I’m about to mention. Enter Tanisha Thomas of the “Bad Girls Club.” Thomas made her debut on “Bad Girls Club 2” in 2008 and has since become a host on Oxygen and a staple on the “BGC” series. She hosted part one of last night’s reunion for “BGC 8,” but she’s also getting married. You can check out my recent interview with Tanisha where she talks about what to expect from that special, but in the meantime check out five reasons why you should watch “Tanisha Gets Married.”

1. She Has Matured Over the Years

Tanisha is one of the few bad girls who actually matured over the years. She still has her moments, but you can see that she has learned to control her temper. She also makes herself available to give sound advice to some of the newer bad girls, who are a lot more unstable these days than when the show first began a few years ago.

2. She’s in a Positive Relationship

Tanisha is vocal about a man she once dated who cheated on her with her best friend and how the situation sent her anger issues over the edge. However, she has moved on and is now in a seemingly successful relationship, which a lot of girls need to see. Girls who watch the “Bad Girls Club” tend to see women who pride themselves on being abusive to their boyfriends, use men to define their self worth or burning through boy toys, but seeing Tanisha and her now husband in action could have a positive affect on impressionable minds. Plus, it’s nice to see that they can still enjoy each other, even when Clive puts his foot in his mouth.

3. Tanisha is Career-Minded

Tanisha succeeded in parlaying her BGC face time into a career as a legitimate TV personality. That’s no easy task, which means that she has smarts. She got the right team behind her and made her goals come to fruition. Even when Tanisha was on her season of the “Bad Girls Club,” she always had a self-sufficient attitude and never needed anyone for the things she wanted.

4. She’s Secure With Who She is

Tanisha is one of the few bad girls who didn’t go around announcing how bad she was, because she was very secure with herself. It’s admirable that she loves food, embraces her size and makes no apologies about it.

5. She’s Over-The-Top

Obviously, Tanisha is a character. She’s dramatic, witty, funny, blunt and describes herself as a diva. These ingredients will make for an extravagant affair and major blowups in the process. Putting together a wedding isn’t easy, but watching Tanisha do it considering what the process will entail is going to be epic.

“Tanisha Gets Married” premieres on May 7th at 10/9c.
