Age is just a number
HIV stigma is attached to being a certain age, but taking care of yourself isn't just limited to an age bracket.
The early 80's was an introduction to the HIV virus and took the nation by storm.
Unfortunately, as time has gone on we have attached specific stigmas to this disease leaving many people feeling ashamed.
Many people have the belief that HIV is a "young" person's disease, but what we forget is that those young people grow and become old, just like everybody else. HIV is an incurable disease, it never goes away. It's important that we make safe, and responsible decisions no matter what age we are. And we should never negate someone else just because they don't seem to "fit" into the categories we have created in our minds.
Age really is nothing but a number. Keep yourself healthy and safe.
Just because they aren't in their 30's doesn't mean they can't pass along the virus.
What are your feelings about HIV?
