Yoga isn’t just for the hip and young in the West obsessed with health. Yoga, when practiced correctly, has been known to help lower heart rate, breathing rate, blood pressure, and balance and coordination.
Now, researchers are saying yoga is good for your mental health too. Yoga has been linked in some cases to help the side effects of depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, and attention deficit disorder.
No, that doesn’t mean doing warrior pose will get rid of mental illness, but it does help coping skills. Some doctors are recommending yoga to help patients deal with issues that cause distress.
