Boys Can be Vaccinated for HPV too
The HPV vaccine is not just for girls anymore.
Girls have been able to get the vaccination for human papillomavirus (HPV) since 2006, and it has now been available to boys for one year.
In this first year of availability, one in five boys received at least the first of the tri-dose of shots. This will substantially prevent the spreading of the sexually transmitted virus to girls, which can cause cervical cancer.
HPV is an STD that can also cause genital warts for both sexes, as well as other types of cancers according to the CDC.
In today's age, it has become as prevalent as the common cold. Use of the vaccine can definitely help combat this problem.
