Breast Cancer Awareness: Eat This to Beat the Odds
Every breast cancer battler and survivor should know of these fighting foods.
Doctors encourage women to increase their consumption of carotenoids, and the best way to do that is by eating more cruciferous vegetables.
Isoflavones, which can be found in soybeans, are directly linked to reduced risk of breast cancer, as well.
Another food to focus on eating more of is fish. The high content of omega-3 fatty acids improves breast cancer prognosis.
Studies have since proven that women who eat more of certain foods have a lower survivor's risk of recurring cancer.
"It's clear better eating habits increase the possibility that a woman won't get breast cancer or have a recurrence," said Dr. Allison Estabrook of St. Luke's Roosevelt.
