Can College Affect Confidence?
Listen up ladies, your education may cost you your self-confidence.
Women who leave college are more likely to enter the real world with a lower self-confidence than they did as entering freshmen.
Even if the women had good grades and were happy with their education, they still reported low self-confidence.
Having a perfectionist attitude might be one cause. Besides that, girls are often held to higher standards than boys, especially in academia. Having to live up to an ideal that includes physical beauty, intellectual ingenuity, and sparkling personalities is sadly becoming more of a norm these days.
