This news is particularly alarming for coffee drinkers who are younger than 55 years old. Young people who drink more than 28 cups of coffee a week (about four cups a day) have a 21 percent higher risk of death.
Researchers also noted that the young excessive coffee drinkers under the age of 55 are more likely to smoke and are less likely to have good cardiorespiratory fitness.
The study results support once again that the key to a healthy lifestyle is in moderation.
