Cats May One Day Cure AIDS
Meow, meow, meow, meow. That’s cat for, “You’re welcome.”
Researchers have been looking in to how our feline friends may help the medical world. They may just have found an answer to the ever-looming HIV/AIDS question.
The cat version of human HIV is feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). A protein from FIV (which causes feline AIDS) can trigger immune responses in the HIV-infected blood of humans.
Cats aren’t the only animals that have the protein though. According to researchers, there are many other furry friends that may hold the link we’ve been searching for.
What do you think of the new research in FIV and HIV?
