Feel Drunk All the Time?
You might be. It is called gut fermentation syndrome, and it is a real thing.
The rare reality of the situation here reveals one man's gut actually fermenting alcohol without consuming it. The International Journal of Clinical Medicine reported this extremely uncommon and unknown phenomenon.
The most current case is that of a gentleman of age 61, who has been living in a constant state of drunkenness for five years.
His wife, who is a nurse, started to give breathalyzer tests, which resulted in an alarming 0.40 blood alcohol content level. With proof that he blew five-times the legal driving limit, he hadn't been drinking at all.
"The physicians were not aware of any way that a person could be intoxicated without ingesting alcohol, and therefore believed he must be a closet drinker," said a source.
After a 24-hour observation of gastroenterology, the doctors figured it out: His stomach was converting food into alcohol, resulting in his constant state of drunk.
