Prescription Painkiller Epidemic?
The CDC warns prescribed drugs are killing more women.
Prescription painkiller deaths have skyrocketed among women by 415 percent since 1999, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
Is there a prescription painkiller epidemic?
Apparently so, says the CDC.
For every woman who dies of a prescription painkiller overdose, 30 go to the emergency department for painkiller misuse or abuse, the CDC reported.
Stopping painkiller abuse among both men and women is everyone’s responsibility. Make sure to use prescribed medicine appropriately.
