Who are the largest consumers of energy drinks? A recent study suggests it’s young, busy moms.
The Nielsen report suggested young moms and teenage males consume energy drinks the most, but their reasons differ.
For the women, most are young, single mothers who typically need an afternoon pick-me-up. The stress and busy schedule have a lot of these women guzzling down energy drinks.
So what does this mean for energy drinks, if their primary audience is young, single, busy mothers? 5-hour ENERGY has begun promoting pink-lemonade flavors with proceeds going to the Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Crusade. Also, Amp advertisements have changed, suggesting the product is helpful for moms with kids who have after-school activities.
There are still energy drinks that advertise solely to the multi-million dollar mom market, such as Go Girl, Her, and COUGAR. Even Coca-Cola is branding a new energy drink towards mothers. The title? “Mother.”
