Want to Live Longer?
Apparently all you need is a college degree.
In a study done by Health Affairs, it was reported that African-American men and women tend to live longer if they have a college degree.
Black women with graduate degrees live nearly 6 years longer than Black men.
Why? Education has a direct impact on socioeconomic status, including access to care, healthy lifestyle choices, and stress management.
However, the life expectancy for African-Americans is still much shorter than white Americans.
The study showed that even with the same level of education, African-Americans typically lived four to six years less than white Americans.
